Location

The Radisson Blu is on-site at Manchester Airport.  It’s connected to Terminals 1 and 2 via a covered moving walkway, so it doesn’t matter if you have to get up at the crack of dawn and can hardly put one foot in front of the other!  You can reach Terminal 3 on foot in 15 to 20 minutes or on the 24 hour airport-operated transfer bus.

Parking

There’s an on-site car park for 222 cars, which you have to pay to use.  You can book a package that combines a night’s accommodation with 4, 8, 15 or 22 days’ parking, so you can leave your car there for the duration of your trip.  This is a convenient option, since you can walk to the terminals from the hotel in the morning.

Check-in/out and breakfast

Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out is at 12 noon.  There’s a Super Breakfast Buffet with 40 different items to choose from, so you won’t be sent off hungry.  It starts at 6 am and finishes at 10.30 am during the week, and half an hour later on weekends.  If you’re in a hurry you can take the Grab & Run option, picking up a hot drink and a croissant from the the hotel lobby.  This is available on weekdays from 4.30 am to 7 am.

Shuttle bus

There’s a free transfer bus to Terminal 3, but this is operated by the airport rather than the hotel.  (It runs every 15 minutes during the day and every half hour at night).  You can walk there if you prefer, in 15 or 20 minutes.  Terminals 1 and 2 are reached within a couple of minutes on foot along a covered moving walkway.

Hotel facilities

There are 2 places to eat at the Radisson Blu.  There’s a restaurant with a European menu and a more informal brasserie for lighter meals.  Children under 12 can eat free here between 5 and 7 pm.   There’s also a bar which is open from 11 am to 1 am.  If you’re in need of a bit of rest and relaxation you can take a dip in the 12 metre swimming pool and ease away the strains in the sauna and steam room.  You can also book beauty therapies like massages and facials, or if that’s not quite your thing, you can sweat it out in the gym.  There’s free WiFi internet access throughout hotel and a Business Service Centre that’s open from 7 am to 7 pm. If you’ve got an event to organise, you can book one of the 30 meeting rooms in the hotel, the largest of which can hold 350 theatre-style.  They’re all equipped with the latest audio visual technology.

Guest rooms

There are 360 air conditioned rooms at the Radisson Blu. They are decorated in 4 different styles – Italian, Scandinavian, Maritime and Oriental – so you can pick the theme that goes with your holiday destination!  They all have complimentary WiFi connections, telephones and satellite TVs.  They also have a hairdryer, trouser press and safe.   Business class rooms have added benefits such as views over the city, daily newspapers, complimentary in-house movies, bathrobes and slippers.  There are 6 luxury suites with separate lounge.  All guests can make use of the 24 hour room service and the 3 hour express laundry service.  It’s just like being back at home with your mum!

Accessibility

The hotel has disabled parking spaces and accessible bedrooms with walk in showers.  The restaurants are on Level 3, which is accessible for wheelchair users via the lifts and ramps.

Directions

The Radisson Blu is based within the Manchester Airport complex, which has its own bus and train stations.  From there, you can access the hotel via a covered moving walkway.  If you’re coming by car, exit the M56 at Junction 5 and follow the signs.

Airport views

The restaurant has full length windows giving views over the airport.  The bedrooms on high floors also have excellent views of the aprons and distant views of the runways (just make sure you get one that faces the airport!)  If you take the moving walkway to Terminal 1 and get up onto the top floor of the multi-storey car park, you can see absolutely everything.
