This is a 4 star Georgian Mansion, part of the Sonoma Hotels Group. Its historic charm makes it an interesting place for an airport stopover. It has an award winning restaurant and good facilities for business travellers. We scoured the internet for reviews in March 2010 and found that guests were giving it a combined rating of about 3 out of 5.

Book Etrop Grange Manchester Airport at Airport Hotels.com
The Etrop Grange Hotel is 2 minutes’ drive from Manchester Airport. Despite being so close, the hotel is not under the flight path so gets very little noise.
There are 90 parking spaces on site for guests who are staying at the hotel. It’s free to use them. There is no long term parking available.
Check-in/out and breakfast
Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out is at midday. The breakfast buffet is available from 7 am til 10 am with full English and Continental options.
The hotel provided complimentary transport to and from the airport and airport train station. This is available 24 hours a day and comes on request rather than at set times, so no waiting around for the next shuttle, you go when it suits you!
This country house hotel was built in 1780, so it is full of interesting period features. It has a restaurant, which has been awarded an AA rosette, and a bar. There are 12 meeting rooms, which can hold up to 100 delegates theatre-style. There’s free WiFi internet access throughout the hotel.
The 64 guest rooms are named after Cheshire villages. They’re all en suite and have air conditioning. They’ve also got satellite TV, telephone, trouser press and hairdryer. Most of them have brass or four-poster beds and some of them have a Jacuzzi bath, making it a romantic type of place, perfect for newlyweds that are about to jet off on their honeymoon! The types of rooms to choose from are singe, twin, double, four-poster and suite. Each of them has a hospitality tray and you can order further refreshments from room service. There’s free WiFi access throughout the building.
Unfortunately the Etrop Grange doesn’t have many facilities for disabled guests. There are stairs up to the front door and throughout the building. There is, however, one accessible bedroom which has wider doors to allow a wheelchair through.
The closest train station is the one at Manchester Airport. Those coming by car should exit the M56 at Junction 5 and follow the signs to Terminal 2. Then take the slip road, and at the roundabout take the first left (do not go towards the terminal). Continue along this road for 75 yards before turning left into Thorley Lane. The Etrop Grange Hotel is 400 yards further along on the right
This is not the right place for planespotters – it would be better to try the Radisson Blu if airport views are what you are after. The Etrop Grange Hotel is a place where you can escape from the airport, without being too far away!
